Love the idea of tapestry, but don't want to spend the vast amounts of time tapestry takes? Then discover the quick way to incorporate surface design in your woven fabric with Summer & Winter pickup. Cate Buchanan will walk us through the process so you can incorporate this technique into your bag of tricks! If you would like this to be super hands on for you, bring a loom with a warp set-up for S&W. There will be a few looms of the guild's warped and ready, but with your own loom, you won't have to share!

Come make paper stars with us! This 16 pointed star, also known as a Froebel star (Fröbelstern - PDF of instructions is
https://dallasweavers.org/froebelstars/">HERE, is made with paper strips and no glue and takes about 10 minutes to fold (once you have made a couple). Bring children to this fun activity. Most of my family learned to make these as children and some even sold them, Lemonade-stand style to make money for gifts.

According to Wikipedia, while Friedrich Froebel (1782-1852), probably didn't invent this paper star, he used paper folding in pre–primary education to conveying simple math concepts. His primary fame is as an educator that founded the Kindergarten concept. The folded star probably dates back long before Froebel.

Lots of bright colored paper will be available to make multiple stars. Bring paper scissors.
